The TAAA Education Committee Projects:
 
Annual Wayne Nelson Academic Scholarship
The applications are given out beginning in January of each year. 
This year the scholarship is due on Saturday, April 21, 2007 
The recipients of the awards will announced the first week of May 2007.
For Grades 12
 
Annual Black History Essay.  This year the title is "The Black History Essay 2007"
The application is given out in January and is due the last week of February. 
This years' topic is to write about "An African American Who Helped Change Our World." 
For grades 6-8
 
We also sponsor:
" Adopt A Class 2007"  We have adopted 5 classes in the Tracy Unified School District.
"The Read Aloud Program"  We go into the classroom and read books to the students.
Grade K-5
 
"The High School Leadership Program" Involves mentoring, motivating students with
speakers from the community, the Leadership Conference offered in May.  Grades 9 -12
 
We present a window display at the Tracy public Library in December for KWANZAA,
January for Dr. Martin Luther King,
February for Black History Month and
June for Juneteenth.
 
Our Association is a sponsor and co supporter of the
San Joaquin Library's Cultural Crossroads Grant project.
