The Black Student Unions (BSU) of the West, Tracy,
Kimball, and Stein high schools joined together to honor
the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., with a breakfast on
January 18, 2010.
There was song, poetry, pride and sharing from all who
attended. It was a strong assembly of history remembered
and future foundations being paved.
Shirley Everett, pictured with her husband, was the
honored keynote speaker. Her theme , "Everybody can be
great because everybody can serve.", was greeted with a
standing ovation. Mrs. Everett, is Sr. Associate Vice
Provost for R&de at Stanford University.
